Paige Bueckers leads UConn women’s basketball with near double-double in 91-49 victory at Seton Hall

The No. 5 UConn women’s basketball team remained undefeated in Big East play with a dominant 91-49 victory at Seton Hall on Wednesday behind 23 points from superstar Paige Bueckers.

Bueckers had her 13th 20-point performance of the season and came just one rebound shy of her second consecutive double-double with nine against the Pirates, also adding a team-high five assists plus two steals. Though she struggled from 3-point range going 1-for-4, the redshirt senior was 8-for-13 shooting from the field and hit a perfect 6-for-6 at the line.

UConn’s offense was balanced in the rout with five players logging at least 10 points. Graduate transfer Kaitlyn Chen was one of the Huskies’ most efficient scorers shooting 6-for-7 for 15 points, and sixth-year senior Aubrey Griffin also added 15 for her most productive performance since returning to play from an ACL tear on Jan. 19. Sophomore Ashlynn Shade added 12 points, and freshman Sarah Strong rounded out the effort with 10.
